Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist expresses her sadness for those who lost their lives in today’s terrorist attack in Aden
“My heart breaks for Aden. I condemn today’s terrorist attack and those responsible must be held accountable. The only way to end this cycle of violence – a cycle that works to empower malign regional actors,
including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Houthis – is for the US government, along with the global community, to empower Yemeni institutions rather than militias who are benefitting from the plight of the Yemeni people. The international community must also work to investigate and hold war criminals accountable for their crimes. The attack should be an urgent reminder to the international community that Yemen deserves and requires a government that represents the true demands and the will of the Yemeni people.”
