Tawakkol Karman: Gulf reconciliation will prove my positions on Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, said that the Gulf reconciliation, in reference to the efforts made to find a solution to the crisis between Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain (in addition to Egypt) on the one hand and Qatar on the other hand, will prove her positions on the Riyadh-led coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen.
The Gulf reconciliation matters nothing to me but to prove that my positions towards the Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition are exclusively attributable to the systematic destruction and tearing apart of my country by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, neither by orders from Doha nor by dictation from Ankara, Tawakkol Karman said in a tweet on Twitter
In a brief statement last Friday, the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, announced that "fruitful" discussions would be held to settle the Gulf crisis.
The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, confirmed that Saudi Arabia will also act on behalf of the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt during the talks, considering that this reflects the Kingdom's stature and "its pioneering role in seeking to support the regions’ security and stability."
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Bahrain, in addition to Egypt, severed diplomatic and trade relations with Qatar.
