Tawakkol Karman: Speech of Hadi washes Saudi crimes and legalizes occupation of Yemen
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, launched a scathing attack on Yemeni President Hadi's speech of today before his advisers, the Parliament Speaker and the government, considering it as a laundering of Saudi crimes and a legitimization of Yemen's occupation and fragmentation.
In a post on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman described President Hadi as a traitor to the nation’s supreme interest after he thanked the King of Saudi Arabia Salman and his crown prince for their efforts in Yemen.
“By doing so, he has laundered their crimes in Yemen and legitimized Saudi occupation and fragmentation of Yemen, just I she expected, wrote Ms. Karman
Hadi, however, Karman added, “disappointed me by not saying even a single word on the UAE.
The Nobel laureate stressed that any speech, which does not classify Saudi Arabia and its coalition as an occupier and enemy of Yemen, falsifies awareness and legitimizes Saudi crimes in Yemen.
Karman concluded that compromising Yemen's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity is considered, according to the Yemeni constitution, a betrayal in the interest of the homeland, and those responsible for it must be held accountable.
