Nobel laureate condemns Houthi militia for forcing Baha'is into exile
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, strongly condemned the Houthi militia putschists for forcing members belonging to the Baha'i sect into exile.
In a tweet on her official Twitter account, Tawakkol Karman wrote: "I condemn the Houthi militia for sending Baha'is into exile out of Yemen, and consider it a crime against humanity added to countless crimes committed by the fascist militia across the country."
It is noteworthy that, last Thursday, the Houthi coup militia deported six Baha'is out of Yemen, including Hamid bin Haydara, the leader of the Baha'i community in Yemen.
Citing representatives of Baha'i International Community (BIC), Human Rights Watch reported in February 2015 that about 1,000 followers of the sect lived in Yemen.
