Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has reiterated that the Houthi militia bears the direct responsibility for undermining the transition process in Yemen and causing a devastating war to the country.
Karman, in a post published on social media, reminded that the Houthi militia stormed the capital Sanaa two years ago, derailed the transition process and caused the country to slip into chaos and devastating war, which has had disastrous consequences.
The Iran-backed Shiite Houthi militia with the backing of ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh invaded Yemen’s capital Sanaa on September 21, 2014, overturned the internationally recognized authority and waged a relentless war on the other territories, which led to the intervention of the Saudi-led Arab coalition at the request of Yemen’s elected President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
