The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman has called Saudi-led Arab coalition to claim and bear responsibility for the targeting of the funeral hall in the capital Sanaa, which killed 140 people.
In a statement posted on her Facebook account, Karman stressed that it is not acceptable to make the chief of staff, Major General Mohammed Almaqdashy, or whoever a scapegoat for what happened.
"You have to admit and take responsibility with honor", she added.
According to results of an investigative body set up the coalition, “a party affiliated to the Yemeni Presidency of the General Chief of Staff wrongly passed information that there was a gathering of armed Houthi leaders in a known location in Sanaa, and insisted that the location be targeted immediately”.
The Saudi-led coalition urged to begin an immediate review of the rules of engagement, calling for compensation for the families of the victims and "appropriate action" that should be taken against those who caused the incident.
