The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman has condemned Yemeni Foreign Ministry for a statement allegedly accusing her of making offensive remarks to Egypt, describing it as “childish behaviour”.
In a post published on her Facebook page early today, Karman stated that Yemeni Foreign Minister’s pro-Sisi position represents neither Yemen nor its people.
She added that Egypt’s Sisi is nothing but a traitor and a military putschist and Egypt would never enjoy pride or dignity under his rule, stressing that all indicators suggest that he will be leaving his office soon.
"Tell Yemeni Foreign Minister - who claimed in a statement issued today by the Foreign Ministry my remarks are offensive to Egypt – that Sisi is not the Arab Republic of Egypt, Long live Egypt!”, she explained.
She concluded her statement by saying that people whether in Sana’a, Cairo, Damascus or Baghdad have the same struggle for freedom and dignity.
On 3 July 2013, Egyptian army chief General Abdel Fattah Sisi led a coalition to overthrow the first democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, from power and suspended the Egyptian constitution.
It is worth mentioning that Yemen’s Nobel Laureate, in a tweet on Twitter, had issued a scathing criticism of the President Sisi and the Egyptian media, saying that they have failed to provide anything for their country and that are two sides of the same coin.
