On International Day for Mine Awareness, Tawakkol Karman calls for including Houthi militia and ousted president on the list of terrorist groups
The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has considered planting hundreds of thousands of landmines in various parts of Yemen
by the Iran-backed militia and forces loyal to ousted president Saleh a crime against humanity that should lead to put them on the list of the terrorist groups.
“On the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, we note that fascist Saleh-Houthi militias have planted hundreds of thousands of mines in different parts of Yemen," wrote Tawakkol Karman on her Facebook page.
Mrs. Karman added that this crime against humanity is enough to put them on the list of terrorist groups and work on prosecuting them so as not to let them go unpunished.
Karman explained that these mines will continue to claim lives of civilians for decades to come.
