The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Tawakkol Karman, has expressed support for recent decisions by Yemen’s President, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, stressing that it is obligatory for everyone to bow to and implement these decisions.
"President's decisions made to restore the state’s legitimacy are binding, and the onus is on the concerned, namely national army, popular resistance and Arab coalition, to implement them,” Mrs. Karman stated in a statement on social media.
Otherwise, Karman adds, failure to respond to them would be rebelling against legitimacy, just like what has been done by forces loyal to ousted president and the Houthi militia.
The mother of revolution has also explained that legitimacy’s restoration necessitates that all military and security leaders and civilian officials in Yemen’s liberated provinces and areas are subordinate and loyal to the legitimate president and his government, adopt the same discourse and seek to achieve the same goal.
She has pointed out that legitimacy entails extending the state’s control and influence and exercising full sovereignty over the rest of areas and provinces that have not yet been liberated.
"This is the essence, functions and entitlements of legitimacy on which other details and parts depend."
"Those who have not understood it in this way still have a chance to understand it properly just now, as there is no room for any delay."
Karman concluded her statement by saying that President Hadi is not weak and that he is the source of legitimacy.
On Wednesday, Yemeni President issued a series of decrees according to which a number of ministers has been replaced in addition to appointing a governor to Aden governorate.
