Yemen would remain independent and sovereign, said the human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate. 

This statement comes in the context of growing undeclared tension between the member of the Saudi-led military coalition, the UAE, and Yemen’s exile government. 

Mrs. Karman had previously stated that the GCC member introduced itself as “an occupying power to Yemen.” 

"The great Yemen is an independent and sovereign country, and will continue to be so forever,” emphasized Mrs. Karman on her Facebook page.
