The human rights activist and Nobel peace laureate Tawakkol Karman has voiced solidarity with the British people and expressed condolences to the victims in London Bridge attacks that left at least seven people dead and 48 injured.
Karman has described what has happened as "unacceptable and deplorable terrorism."
London yesterday witnessed two simultaneous attacks in two closely connected areas of London, where three attackers rammed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed others nearby, leaving seven people dead and 48 wounded.
According to the British police, the attacks have been treated as terrorist incidents.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page, Mrs. Karman strongly condemned the incidents, considering them a terrorist action that is “rejected by everyone with even a jot of mind or conscience.”
"Terrorists have not only stabbed London but also Islam itself, which is being abused by those who are dominated by feelings of intolerance, hatred and inhumanity," Karman said.
