The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has condemned in the strongest possible terms the massacre committed today against civilians, mostly women and children, in Sanaa's Atan district by Saudi-led military coalition.
At least sixteen people were killed and 22 others were wounded after an air strike hit a residential area of Yemen's militia-held capital, Sanaa.
The two-and-a-half-year-old coalition has been waging a military campaign against the Iran-backed Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted president Saleh, and the conflict has cost at least thousands of people, according to UN statistics.
