Tawakkol Karman at Nobel Peace Center in Norway: Tyrants have no place on path to peace
Nobel Peace laureate and human rights advocate Tawakkol Karman has said the peace is not a mysterious path, adding that it should not be turned into a tool used by tyrants to oppress peoples.
The statement came in a speech delivered today on peace and justice at an event organized, in cooperation with the Nobel Peace Center, to present the book Nobel Heroes by photo artist Peter Badge.
“Nothing in the world deserves to sacrifice our conscience for it,” stated Mrs. Karman, stressing that a Nobel Prize laureate should not betray their own conscience.
