Nobel laureate mocks Al-Jubeir's remarks on providing aid to Yemen
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has mocked remarks by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir who was quoted as saying that his country leading a military intervention in Yemen has provided more than $ 8 billion as humanitarian aid to Yemen.
In a statement on Twitter, Karman wondered whether 800 million dollars were enough to rebuild a compensate a country that was being destroyed for more than two years.
The coalition counts the cost of missiles and air strikes it keeps dropping on the country as aid, she added sarcastically.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir had said, in a speech delivered yesterday at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, that his country has already provided more than $ 8 billion, including $ 67 million to fight cholera, as humanitarian aid to Yemen through the King Salman Relief and International Organizations Center.
