Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman met today with Iceland’s President Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson and his wife. 

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Mrs. Karman’s participation in an international conference on global threats and challenges, organized today Höfði Reykjavik Peace Centre (HOFDI) at the University of Iceland.

Jóhannesson replaced President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, 73, who served as Iceland's head of state since 1996.
