Nobel Peace Laureate: Saudi-led coalition’s crimes in Yemen will not go unpunished
Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman said the leaders of the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia will be prosecuted for all crimes they have committed against Yemen for three years.
"The coalition’s agenda in Yemen is illegal," stated Mrs. Karman in a statement on Twitter.
She continued to say, “The Arab coalition has been imposing a suffocating siege on Yemen, and has violated the country’s sovereignty by placing the legitimate authority under house arrest, occupying the territory and killing people.”
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a military intervention under the pretext to restore the legitimate authority represented by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to power and end the coup carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia allied with forces loyal to the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh overthrown in a popular uprising in 2011.
