Nobel Peace laureate arrives in Canada to participate in international conference
The Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman today arrived in Canada to take part in an international conference organized by Halifax International Security Forum, North America’s leading foreign affairs and defense conference.
In a statement on social media, Karman indicated that she will convey a message to the world during the conference that the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen has turned into a source of misery for Yemenis and a cause of instability.
"I will say that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have turned their war in Yemen from an intervention aimed to restore the legitimate authority to a war to destroy Yemen and Yemenis,” she stated.
She concluded by saying, “The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran are many sides of the same coin, and seek to undermine and destroy my country."
