Tawakkol Karman addressing UAE’s Gargash: Muslim Brotherhood struggles for freedom
The Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has criticized UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash for labeling the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood as "terrorist, stressing that the Islamic movement struggles for freedom and has nothing to do with terrorism.
"The Brotherhood is a movement fighting for freedom," wrote Karman on her official Twitter page.
Addressing the UAE minister, she indicated that the terrorists are those who violate freedoms and deprive them of their rights, but not those fighting for rights and freedoms like the Egyptian Islamic movement.
Mr. Gargash had stated in a recent tweet that the Yemeni Islah Party announced its disengagement from the terrorist organization of Muslim brotherhood, adding, "We have an opportunity to test the intentions and give priority to interests of Yemen and its Arab surrounding.”
"We are working with flexibility, and our goal is to bring security and stability into the region," Gargash concluded.
