Tawakkol Karman urges Yemen’s president and exile government to leave Riyadh
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman today called on Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his government-in-exile to leave the Saudi capital Riyadh as a step to rid themselves of what she described a house arrest.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Karman noted that Hadi and this government who have been exiled to Saudi Arabia for about three years after a coup led by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, have been placed under house arrest, urging them to leave their place and free their political decision from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
She suggested that the president should move to another country in order to make Riyadh change its improper way of dealing with Yemen and Yemenis.
