The Nobel peace laureates, Tawakkol Karman of Yemen, Shirin Ebadi of Iran and Mairead Maguire of Northern Ireland, met today with Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wazed.
"During the meeting, we thanked Sheikh Hasina Wazed and the people of Bangladesh for their support and efforts they have provided to the Rohingyas who have been left alone by the whole world," said Tawakkol Karman in her Twitter account.
Without Bangladesh, Karman continued, they (Rohingyas) would have died of hunger and disease.
The three Nobel Peace laureates have arranged the visit to assess the conditions of Rohingyas and the violence against women of this ethnic minority, as part of activities organized by The Women's Initiative that six female Nobel Peace Prize laureates launched in 2006.
