Tawakkol Karman: UAE’s ugly troops finally leave enchanting Socotra
The Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman expressed great happiness about the withdrawal of the UAE troops from Socotra archipelago.
Tawakkol Karman, in a statement on Twitter, pointed out that the UAE troops found themselves forced to leave after widespread popular protests over the deployment of UAE troops on the Yemeni island, a UNESCO heritage site.
In this context, Karman hoped that Saudi Arabia would take a similar step and withdraw its occupying forces from other Yemeni islands and ports.
Karman added, “I pay tribute to all those who have expressed their rejection of any trusteeship, occupation and hegemony over Socotra and others.
