Nobel laureate to The Independent: Presence of Saudi troops in Socotra is alarming
The Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has said the presence of Saudi troops in the Socotra archipelago was alarming.
“We refuse to replace the UAE occupation with a Saudi one. These countries are just taking turns to devastate Yemen and impose control, and on Socotra that affects the rare ecosystem there too,” Karman told The Independent.
She pointed out that there are hidden agendas behind the more than three-year military campaign led by the both GCC states.
