Tawakkol Karman: Al Maisari's prisons-related remarks are lie harming legitimacy
The Nobel Peace laureate and human rights advocate Tawakkol Karman has described Interior Minister Ahmed al-Meissari's announcement that all prisons in the liberated governorates are under the authority of the Attorney General and Prisons Service as a lie that harms Yemen’s legitimate authority.
"Al Maisari knows that he is lying when he claims that the prisons are under the authority of the Attorney-General and the Prison Service in the areas liberated from Houthi's control," wrote Tawakkol Karman on Twitter.
Karman added that Al Maisari’s lie causes great harm to the legitimate government and the victims while it enables the UAE to commit more crimes of arrest and enforced disappearance.
