In an interview with CNN...Karman demands the resignation of Myanmar leader
The Nobel peace laureate Tawakkol Karman has asked Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi to resign rather than become a "perpetrator" of the genocide of the country's Rohingya minority.
"Unfortunately, our Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi does not take responsibility for protecting Rohingya," Karman told CNN.
"We are Nobel laureates," Karman said. "We send her many letters. We tell her that she must stop this genocide and she must break her silence, otherwise she will be one of the perpetrators of this genocide and crimes. One day she will be pursued by the International Criminal Court.
"We asked Aung San Suu Kyi, if you could not do anything against all these crimes against humanity, against this genocide, you should resign! Otherwise you will be one of these perpetrators,” she said.
