Karman supports demands of protesters in Sudan and condemns repression against them
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has expressed her absolute support for the demonstrators in Sudan and described their demands as fair.
On her Facebook page, Karman condemned repression against the demonstrations in Sudan by the corrupt and despotic Omar al-Bashir’s regime.
Protests against the Sudanese government have erupted over the four-day economic crisis in several cities.
Spokesman for the National Consensus Alliance, Sadiq Yusuf, said that head of the alliance Farouk Abu Eissa, 85, was among 14 opponents arrested after an opposition meeting in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum.
