The Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman condemned detention of the Yemeni actor Ali al-Hajuri in Saudi Arabia, describing it as a barbaric act.

"The kingdom of darkness and the horn of devil arrested the Yemeni actor Ali al-Hajuri. I condemn this savage behavior," said Karman on her official Facebook page.

Karman considered the arrest of actor Ali Al-Hajuri as an extension of the violation and destruction of our people rights by the notorious Kingdom of Al Saud.

Local media reported that the Saudi authorities detained the Yemeni comedian and actor Ali al-Hajuri, known as "Jaafar", on several charges including the insulting of religion.
