Tawakkol Karman salutes Algeria’s “February 22 popular uprising”
The human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman has applauded Algerians for their protest against Bouteflika's bid for the fifth term, describing the demonstrations their as “Algeria’s February 22 popular uprising”.
"The people of Algeria are free and will never accept the farce of being governed by a clinically dead president," Karman wrote on her official Facebook page.
She added, "The Algerians clearly reject the fifth term of the clinically-dead president who has not spoken or written for nearly six years."
Mrs. Karman continued that little drops of water make a mighty ocean that is impossible to contain within walls, giving a big shout-out to “February 22 popular uprising and its orchestrators” in Algeria.
