The human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman today applauded the US Senate for its decision to end the United States support for the Saudi-UAE coalition in Yemen.
"I applaud the US Senate for its historic decision to end the US support of the war in Yemen. The Saudi-UAE aggressive coalition has caused undue tragedy in my country," wrote Mrs. Karman on her official page on Twitter.
She pointed out that the US Senate's decision is a step that is long overdue too late, especially after the thousands of civilians have died unjustly as a result of the conflict.
