Istanbul - Yemeni journalist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Tawakkol Karman has called for justice for the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and for holding those committing crimes in her country as well.
Referring to Saudi Arabia and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Karman said: “The rogue state that killed Jamal Khashoggi is the same rogue state that destroyed Yemen,” adding that Saudi Arabia “has bought the silence of the world”.
In a touching speech at a memorial ceremony that marked one year of anniversary of Khashoggi's assassination, Mrs. Karman said: “No country, no matter how brutal, would dare commit such a crime. Only ISIL would do this. No one other than Saudi Arabia is like ISIL.”
She added that the murder would "undermine all Mohammed bin Salman's efforts to promote himself as a global leader."
