The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Laureate Tawakkol Karman has congratulated the Tunisian people on the successful presidential elections and the selection of Kais Saied as the new president. 

"I congratulate the great Tunisia on the victory of Kais Saied in free and fair elections”, Mrs. Karman said in a statement on Facebook, criticizing sharply the regimes in Egypt and the UAE for their unlimited support for counter-revolutions in the region.

She added that had it not been for the conspiracies of the oil sheikhs, Egypt would have deservedly been the leading democracy in the region.
