Nobel laureate expresses happiness for releasing 290 detainees
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has expressed her happiness with the Houthis' decision to release 290 detainees from their prisons, stressing that zeroing prisons is the most important step towards peace.
In a statement on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman pointed out that she feels the joy of all mothers who will meet their sons after a long separation.
"I hope this release will be a step towards the implementation of the Stockholm agreement providing for the release of all prisoners and detainees," Mrs. Karman said.
Karman stressed that the closing the prisons permanently is an important step towards peace, stressing the urgent need to release all prisoners and detainees unconditionally.
