Nobel laureate condoles death of high-ranking military commander
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has expressed her sincere condolences and deep sorrow to Yemenis and the beloved ones over the sad demise of Taiz’s high-ranking military commander Adnan al-Hammadi.
In a statement on social media, Tawakkol Karman emphasized that al-Hammadi was one of the most prominent Republican military commanders who stood in the face of the coup carried out by the Houthi militia and its ally the ousted president Saleh.
“In my name, I extend my condolences to all the Yemenis over the sad demise of al-Hammadi who was among the most prominent Republican military leaders,” said Karman.
She pointed out that such sudden and premature demise of the martyr Hammadi, at a time when Yemen in general and the governorate of Taiz in particular are subjected to a lot of conspiracies and are going through bitter experiences and difficulties for internal and external reasons, makes Yemenis seriously need to stand together to counter all threats.
