Nobel laurate sends messages to February revolutionaries and supporters of killed Saleh
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has addressed important messages to the February 11 revolution youth and supporters of the deceased president Saleh.
In a statement on official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman said that the February Revolution granted the deposed president Ali Saleh assurances to leave power and dealt with him with great tolerance that he did not deserve.
“Before your deposed president came to power through a treacherous coup against the then-president Ibrahim al-Hamdi and his companions, the situation in Yemen were much better compared to the one after the revolution forced your Saleh out of power. Likewise, Yemen's situation was also better before Saleh Ali conspired against and betrayed the republic. So, alone Saleh and his servants, of course, bear the responsibility for all this ruin, Karman said in a message to late Saleh’s supporters.
Addressing the February youth, Karman added: “Your curses on the deposed Saleh’s crimes should continue until the successive generations keep resenting them and their perpetrators to ensure that such crimes do not recur.”
