The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has expressed deep condolences on the death of the political leader and the exceptional figure, Mohammed Al-Sabry, who died today after a long struggle with illness in a hospital in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
With the death of Al-Sabri, our people has lost one of its most prominent fighters at such darkest moment of history, wrote Tawakkol Karman on social media.
It is noteworthy that Al-Sabri, born in June 1968 in the governorate of Taiz, a political science graduate of the University of Sana'a in 1993. He occupied political leadership positions.
He held the position of deputy head of the political department in the Yemeni Nasserite Party from 2000-2004. In 2004,, he became head of Party’s Political Department.
Besides, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the opposition Joint Meeting Parties and assumed the chairman of the Excusive Committee. Al-Sabri worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister for two last years.
