The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has expressed her absolute support and solidarity towards the vulnerable and freedom fighters around the world.
In a press conference held in New York on Ukraine and Yemen with the participation of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates Leymah Gbowee from Liberia and Judy Williams from the USA, Tawakkol Karman touched on tyranny and tyrants, as well as the consequences of international silence on human rights, freedom and human values in general.
The West’s mistake began with the Arab Spring when remaining silent on the oppression against peoples and interference in their internal affairs, Mrs. Karman said, pointing out to the crimes committed by Bashar al-Assad and the Russian intervention and humanity crimes in Syria to save the criminal al-Assad.
She also stressed that had it not been for the international silence on the Russian intervention in Syria, Putin would not have dared to invade Ukraine, and that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is nothing but a natural result of not taking a firm and decisive stance towards tyranny and tyrants, who are violating human rights in more than one part of this world.
Yemen is being exposed to external intervention and an unjust war from three parties, namely Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE, she concluded.
