Revolution’s Mother talks about Arab Spring lessons and future challenges

Today, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, attended the second annual conference of the Arab Council, held via the ZOOM virtual meeting platform application, under the title "The Arab Spring: Lessons from Experience and Future Challenges".

During her speech given at the virtual meeting, the Nobel laureate emphasized that the future belongs to the Arab Spring and not to the forces of tyranny, stressing that the goals of the Arab Spring revolutions could not be a bargaining chip.

Karman pointed out that the Arab Spring offered two great gifts, namely it has undermined the rulers’ self-confidence after they had thought that they would remain in power forever, and at the same time, it strengthened the peoples’ self-confidence and that they are capable of changing and overthrowing rulers.
