Tawakkol Karman Foundation is sponsoring the "Noor for Security and Peace" initiative, targeting the local community and visitors along the Jabal Saber road in Taiz (southwest Yemen).
The initiative is part of the 2024 Musanada program, which aims to empower Yemeni youth in developing their communities through economic support, fostering creativity, and encouraging proactive leadership.
The initiative was selected for the Musanada program, which provides financial and administrative support to eligible initiatives for on-ground implementation, ensuring meaningful community impact. It was chosen after a rigorous selection process involving over 600 proposals submitted to the foundation.
The "Noor for Security and Peace" initiative focuses on installing solar-powered lights to improve public safety and enhance tourism activities. Its objectives include increasing security along Jabal Saber road, boosting local economic and tourism activities through better lighting infrastructure, and promoting awareness of renewable and eco-friendly energy sources.
The Musanada program, which has supported numerous initiatives in recent years, targets Yemeni youth across the governorates of Taiz, Ma’rib, Mahra, Shabwa, Lahj, and the cities of Mukalla and Seiyun in Hadramout. Its focus areas include education, economic empowerment, social cohesion, and demining efforts in Yemen.
Since its launch in 2022, Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s Musanada program has funded numerous youth-led initiatives in Taiz, Ma’rib, Aden, and Hadramout, covering diverse fields such as education, art, environmental preservation, and empowering individuals with special needs.
