The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, saluted the American people’s fight against discrimination.
In a post on her official Twitter page, Tawakkol Karman wrote: “Greetings to the great American people as it is fighting against discrimination so as to make the world more free and safe!
“You are beloved of God, and blessed are you,” Karman added.
The protests began in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after a video clip showed black American citizen George Floyd struggling to catch his breath while a white policeman was kneeling on his neck.
Protests spread across the United States to denounce police violence, and chants of "Black lives matter," which appeared in similar incidents over the past years, rose again.
