Tawakkol Karman Urges Yemen’s Exiled Government and Saudi-led Arab Coalition to pay State Employees
The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Tawakkol Karman has called upon Yemen’s Riyadh-based legitimate authority and Saudi-led Arab coalition to pay salaries of all Yemeni state employees and provide relief to those affected by the war.
In a letter to the government of the President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the Arab military coalition published on social media today morning, Karman stressed that they are fully responsible for payment of salaries of all Yemenis and providing relief to all those have become victims to the war, “who are in fact all Yemenis”.
“Legitimacy is not just ink on paper, and war is not just bombing without taking consequences”, she added in her statement on Facebook.
It is worth mentioning that the state employees' salaries haven’t been paid for nearly two months after Yemen’s exiled legitimate President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi gave instructions on early September to move the Yemeni Central Bank from the rebel-held capital Sanaa to the temporary capital of Aden.
