Yemen’s Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and human rights advocate Tawakkol Karman has launched a scathing attack on John Kerry, saying that his administration
has miserably failed to deliver on its promise as to the transition process in Yemen where sponsorship efforts are meant to culminate in consolidation of the fascist coup.
Seeking to end (in any way) the fighting between the Iran-backed putschists allied with ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who took over the power, and the internationally recognized government of the Yemeni president before Obama’s last term ends, US secretary of state John Kerry announced on Tuesday that the parties to the conflict have agreed to a temporary ceasefire.
Kerry said all fighting parties had also agreed to work to set up a Yemeni national unity government by the end of the year.
However, Yemeni legitimate government, in the words of Yemeni foreign minister Abdel-Malek Al Mekhlafi, said it had no idea about Kerry’s announcement.
“The government was not aware of, nor is it interested in, what John Kerry announced, which represents a desire to scuttle peace efforts by trying to reach an agreement with the Houthis apart from the government,” Mekhlafi tweeted on Twitter page.
Commenting on Kerry’s announcement, “Yemen’s iron woman” explained, in a post published on Facebook, that USA has never seen a weak government like US President Barack Obama's administration whose weakness has caused too much suffering to peoples of region.
Of the fruits of Obama administration’s policy in the region are for example the expansion of Iranian influence in the region as a whole, Egypt’s military coup, five hundred thousand martyrs in Syria and a fascist coup and invasion of Yemen’s cities, Mrs. Karman concluded her statement.
