Tawakkol Karman arrives in Geneva to participate in “The Effect of Political Conflicts on Human Rights Conditions in The Arab Spring Countries”
The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has arrived in Geneva to participate in a side-event on March 2, 2017 on the sidelines of meetings of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
Organized by International Lawyers Organization, the side-event will shed light on “the effect of political conflicts on human rights conditions in the Arab Spring countries.
In addition to Tawakkol Karman, other personalities have also been invited, including former president of Tunisia Moncef Marzouki, UN advocate and representative for Egypt at Human Rights Watch Laila Matar, human rights activist Nahla Nasser and former associate foreign editor of The Guardian Victoria Brittain.
