With attendance of four other colleagues, Tawakkol Karman participates at Initiativkreis Mönchengladbach
The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has arrived in Berlin to participate at an extraordinary event in the German city of Mönchengladbach.
The meeting will also bring together four other Nobel Peace laureates from different countries, namely Rigoberta Menchú Tum from Guatemala, Jody Williams from USA, Shirin Ebadi from Iran, Mairead Maguire from Northern Ireland.
According to the event’s organizer, the five women Nobel Peace winners are going to talk about their various activities and give a picture of what they have been fighting for and the reasons why they were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
RTL’s chief foreign correspondent Antonia Rados, who has been working as a crisis and war reporter for 30 years, will be in charge of the discussion rounds.
The event will be held on Monday, May 15, at 8 pm, in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Halle, and its proceedings will be simultaneously translated into English and German.
