The human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman has welcomed the arrival of Yemeni prime minister and some members of the government, including Aden’s governor, in the interim capital of Aden, describing it as a very important step.
"I welcome this step and consider it as a very important step to complete the process of overthrowing the coup d'état, restore the state and extend the state’s sovereignty over the whole national territory," Karman said on her Facebook page.
To achieve this goal, it will be necessary that government and Aden’s new governor take full responsibility for all the security services, military units, airports, ports and other civilian institutions in the temporary capital and the rest of the liberated provinces, Mrs. Karman added.
She has also called on the UAE, which controls everything in southern provinces, to hand over all state institutions to Yemen’s legitimate government without any delay so that the partnership is based on solid foundation, trust and respect.
