In lecture at international forum in Doha, Nobel laureate sheds light on essential role of civil society in today’s world
In today’s world, the civil society plays a pivotal role regarding educational initiatives, small projects and social cohesion, said human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman.
This came in a keynote lecture Mrs. Karman delivered today at the 3rd Annual International Forum for Learning and Civil Participation in Doha, Qatar.
“The creation of community work networks and the development of social responsibility are today’s question and tomorrow's challenge for our societies,” said Mrs. Karman.
She pointed out that social initiatives are urgently needed to fill the vacuum and develop community awareness to respond to changes in society.
