The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman met today with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Rome MED 2019 Conference in the Italian capital.

During the meeting, they discussed the role that Italy could play in bringing peace to Yemen.

Tawakkol Karman expressed her thanks for Italy's support for the Libyan government, its positive attitude supporting Yemeni legitimacy and its sponsorship of the Mediterranean Dialogue Conference.
