Karman Mourns Former Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi
Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights advocate Tawakkol Karman has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Yemeni President Field Marshal Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who died in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a statement published on her official Facebook page, Karman extended her condolences to the Yemeni people, describing the late president as “a staunch republican and great unionist,” and highlighting his long public career in defending the Republic, preserving national unity, and upholding constitutional legitimacy.
Karman stated that the late president devoted much of his political life to safeguarding Yemen’s republican system and unity in the face of coup attempts and separatist projects that threatened the country’s stability and cohesion. She noted his role in supporting constitutional legitimacy during critical phases of Yemen’s recent history.
She also prayed for mercy upon his soul and extended her condolences to the Yemeni people, describing his passing as a significant national loss.
