Nobel laureate to speak at "Digital Power of Women" Conference 2024
Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman will be a speaker at the "Digital Power of Women" (DPOW) 2024 conference, a virtual international event taking place November 17-18.
Organized in collaboration with the G20 Social Group, DPOW 2024 aims to amplify the voices of female leaders in shaping inclusive global policies within the G20 framework.
The conference will feature 72 speakers dedicated to empowering women through digital platforms. Ms. Karman, a renowned advocate for women's rights and peace, will address critical issues including women's empowerment, gender equality, and women's crucial role in peace processes. Her address will highlight the importance of supporting women in leadership positions and increasing their participation in decision-making.
Ms. Karman will also discuss the impact of societal inequalities and environmental challenges on women, particularly in conflict zones and poverty-stricken areas. She will address the effects of climate change, resource scarcity, and livelihood loss on women in these vulnerable communities.
DPOW 2024 serves as a vital digital platform, demonstrating how G20 engagement groups can integrate female perspectives into policy recommendations across key areas such as artificial intelligence, economic development, and environmental sustainability. By fostering the participation of non-governmental stakeholders, DPOW ensures diverse voices are represented in G20 decision-making, promoting a more inclusive and equitable global dialogue.
