Tawakkol Karman to attend international conference on peace, development, and nation-Building in Thailand
Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman will participate in the “International Conference on Peace, Development and Nation-Building: Peace in the World of Disparity,” set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 28, 2024.
Hosted by the Nation Building Institute International (NBII), the conference will feature Karman discussing the root causes of global tensions and their impact on various countries. She will also propose actionable solutions aimed at establishing a more balanced, equitable, and peaceful world.
On her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman conveyed her commitment by stating that she will stand by the issue of Gaza and speak boldly about the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by what she considers to be the worst occupation in human history against the Palestinians.
The event will address how to build peace in a world marked by inequality and explore collective problem-solving methods. It will highlight how policymakers and leaders can incorporate the concept of inner peace into their strategies to reduce disparities and promote justice.
The conference theme, “Peace in the World of Disparity,” underscores the urgency of addressing the multifaceted issues stemming from inequality, racial divisions, and resource conflicts. Participants, including experts, activists, scholars, and policymakers, will engage in discussions to foster new synergies and develop strategies for a more just and peaceful society.
