Renowned human rights advocate and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Tawakkol Karman, recently held a meeting with Naledi Pandor, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa.
Pandor, who also serves as the head of her country's delegation to the International Court of Justice, engaged in meaningful discussions with Karman.
On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held from March 1st to 3rd in the city of Antalya, Turkey, the meeting took place. The forum was organized by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It is noteworthy that Tawakkol Karman previously described South Africa's filing of a lawsuit against the Israeli occupation for genocide against the Palestinians at the International Court of Justice as a significant historical stance.
On her official social media account, Tawakkol Karman, commended South Africa for taking a significant step in initiating legal proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
Karman juxtaposed South Africa's proactive stance with the perceived reluctance and complicity of Arab and Islamic governments, pointing out their failure to take similar actions in addressing the plight of the Palestinians through legal channels.
