Nobel laureate condemns crackdown on peaceful protests in Iraq 

The Nobel Peace Prize-winning activist Tawakkol Karman has condemned the crackdown on the Iraqi protestors who are fighting against sectarianism and for the establishment of a state of equal citizenship, justice and law.

Mrs. Karman in a statement on Facebook pointed out that the number of victims in Iraq on Friday demonstrations rose to 30 martyrs and more than two thousand wounded, adding that the authorities imposed a curfew in many provinces.

“Total shame on the killers, and all the glory to the great Iraq, which is leading the struggles of our nations against sectarianism and for the State of equal citizenship, justice and law," she said.
